128 Never felt like so much before

My computer at work, the one I'm on now, is to say the least slow. It's an AMD K6 2 with 3D Now!, whatever that means. Your guess is as good as mine how fast (or slow) that really is.

I got curious today and opened my computer. To my pleasant surprise I saw an available slot for RAM. It was a pleasant surprise because there is an unused computer in my office. Older than mine or I'd be using it. If it's not being used, neither is it's RAM.

Open it up...Suck!

I can't use the RAM in this older compie cuz it's the wrong kind.

Minutes later in the hallway I see Dave the computer guy. "Hey, do you have any RAM laying around?"

"Yeah"

We look at my computer's innards then make way for Dave's office.

The top drawers in my desk have pencils, pens, white out, and the like. The top drawer of Dave's desk, modems, those flat computer cables, and lots of other flat green computer things. He digs around and pulls out some smaller green things, RAM!

Back in my office with RAM in hand we rip open the side of my computer and shove the 'new' RAM in.

Powering it up.

The little counter on the startup screen counts higher than ever before! It soars past 200000 faster than I could.

Windows comes up and in My Computer's Properties I see a 256 where there used to be 128.

I think my compie's running a little faster...maybe. At any rate (no pun intended) I feel like it's running faster. I've even put that green pastures Windows XP wallpaper up to enhance my computing experience at work.

1 was Better

So I went to a Halo party last night. We ofcourse played plenty of Halo 2. There was a lot screaming and trash talking. Mostly screaming. Not like little girls but like frustrated angry men. Now, that was only the 3rd Halo party we've had here since Halo 2 came out. I can't even count how many we had before that. We had 13 people there last night. That's a pretty good number of people considering 8 is plenty. But at the end of the night, 1:00a, the four remaining guys there, me being one of them, decided that getting together to play Halo 1 was much more fun. The frustrated angry screaming men were screaming because there were several guys there who play a lot on Xbox Live. Those guys totally owned most of us for the night. The teams were pretty even but most of the action was them killing and the rest of us dying. At least when we played Halo 1 we were all about equal because there was no Halo on Xbox Live. There was Xbox Connect but most people did't use that. So, what I'm trying to say is that Halo 1 LAN parties were so much more fun than a Halo 2 LAN is.
